faq's

1. Do you only host giveaways and reviews for Etsy/handmade shops? I notice you feature a lot of indie-companies.
No! Any shop/company large or small ... handmade or not - as long as it's family-friendly.

2. How do I go about having you host a giveaway or review for me?
Email me! (see the 'contact' page) Please know that I receive a bunch of requests and will sometimes need to decline so I'm not slaving away at my computer 24/7. As a giveaway sponsor, you would be responsible for shipping the winner the prize in a timely fashion. It is up to you if you'd like the giveaway open to U.S. only entrants, U.S./Canada, or Internationally. I allow you to make this decision because I know shipping can certainly be pricey!

3. If I have you host a giveaway for me - am I required to send you a review product as well?
No, that is not a requirement. But! I will say that I do prefer that I am able to receive a review product - not because I just like getting free stuff, but because I like to actually be able to honestly say that your product is of good quality, I can vouch for it, etc. Sometimes I feel weird writing about how awesome a shop's items are without ever seeing/touching something from the shop for myself. Know what I mean?  Plus, I love being able to post a variety of photos of the item (like I did here & here, for example) ... I love an excuse to whip out my camera! Something to keep in mind, I am not a mommy - so if you want me to host a giveaway for a baby/children's item, I will - but no need to send me a product.

4. Do you charge $ for you to host a giveaway or review for me?
Absolutely not. You're offering a prize plus shipping the winner the prize... that's enough. Why should I ask for money?

5. When do the giveaways close for entry?
At the end of each giveaway post, I will write... "last day to enter: ____" - giveaways close on that date @11:59pm EST. I usually have giveaways last for a week or two, unless the shop sponsoring the giveaway has requested a longer entry period.

6. Rafflecopter? Huh?
Rafflecopter is a widget that makes it so easy to enter giveaways. Just follow the prompts... but please only claim entries if you have really done the task. At the end of the giveaway period, Rafflecopter randomly chooses a winner, but I am still able to check the winner's entries for validity. If it looks like there's cheating, I can have Rafflecopter chose again.(And please, none of this "using multiple email addresses and fake names to enter a gazillion times.")

7. What's with the referral links?
I do not charge to host giveaways and I do not offer advertisements on my sidebar. However, I will post links that do sometimes give me shop credit or reward points. Other than items I receive as review product, this is my only "payment-ish" avenue I have for the blog. Trust me, I'm not getting rich off of a $10 credit to an online shop here and there.

8. How do you draw the  giveaway winners?
Rafflecopter does that for me! It's completely random. So... the more entries you qualify for, the higher your chances!

9. The giveaway's closed. Now, who's the winner?
The winner's name will appear within the Rafflecopter widget after the winner has been randomly chosen.

10. How do I know if I win?
I email the winners (I use the email address you used in the Rafflecopter widget, so make sure you use one you actually check!). And, all winners have 48 hours to reply back - or, I will draw another winner. (Be sure to check your spam folder! A winning notification email could end up in there.)

11. How about ads? What are your rates?
I actually do not offer ads - what can I say? I like as little clutter on the sidebar as possible! Also, I feel that it helps the blog load faster.

12. I haven't received my prize yet. What's up?
If you haven't received your prize within 2 weeks of winning it - please email me (see the 'contact me' page)... I'll get in touch with the shop owner who is mailing you your prize and see what's going on.

13. I have a giveaway on my blog - will you mention it on your blog?
Unfortunately, no. I'm afraid if I did so, I would be at my computer way too much. lol!

- I do not receive monetary compensation to host giveaways. If I am reviewing a product, that product is given to me free of charge (or, I already own the item).

- I will occasionally receive referral credit via referral links I link to on the blog.

- If I'm reviewing a product - the post will always adhere to the FTC's 16 CFR, Part 225: I only receive products themselves, no other monetary compensation for the review. All opinions are honest and my own.
